Laika-The First Space Dog!

We have heard about the Humans being orbited to space and some of them made it through. May be hardly anyone knows about the first animal which orbited to the space. Yes, the space animal- a Dog.

Laika the first space dog who orbited the Earth 62years ago. Sadly, she died in space, alone and in agony. Stray animals are a easy pick for scientists to perform their tests as they belong to no one. She was plucked from the streets of Moscow, selected for her small size and bright coat (that would show up nicely and clear on the film). She passed away five hours after she was thrust into the orbit. Her death is as caused due to over heating and the satellite wasn’t sufficiently insulated from the sun’s rays and she died right there. Thought the officials admitted that they knew that she won’t be able to make a return trip. Laika the first animal to be launched into orbit died from overheating and panic in tiny aircraft. Her death was not easy.

Just like Laika and the 115 million other animals needlessly used in experiments worldwide each year.

We need to stop animal abuse. Experiments on the poor animals is just not acceptable. Think about it.
