Such a beautiful moment to celebrate about your pet having puppies. I recall my beautiful memories which I have when my pet dog had puppies and not just once, but thrice. Yup, my labrador pair had 3 Litters and all were healthy and perfect by God willing. As it was my first time, I didn’t know anything about the health of my lab or what to feed her during her pregnancy. But, I thank my Vet who guided me through even if he wasn’t present physically. He guided me and told me the procedure. Usually we see a lot of videos on YouTube about people making videos of their pet dogs or cats giving birth but I didn’t do any such thing. In fact, the reality is- My pet dog gave birth in the mid afternoon while I was fast asleep. The only thing I noticed was, that she was barking a lot and I made it out that she is in pain but didn’t know that she was really near the time. As soon as I woke up, I rushed to my dog and saw cute little puppies lying here and there my dog. I picked them up and took them to my female lab. My lab was so tired I could see her tired eyes. The puppies were so little and adorable. My lab pair was pure black in color, single tone. The puppies were 2 pure fawn color, 2 pure black and 1 chocolate brown color. It was amazing!
Since, the litter arrived, they also demanded a bigger area and yes space. With having already a grown up adult of South African BoerBoel and 3 adult Labrador and now 5 puppies. I had to think about the next step. The point where I had to see, how the mother reacts towards her puppies. It is very important to know that the early days of puppies it is very important that they be fed by their mother. After 1.2-2.5months the puppies are separated by their mother herself. So, it is then easily to give them away.
A lot of people make mistakes by giving away a month old puppy!
It is a cycle! The nature has made a cycle itself by letting the mother/parents leave their children on their own to survive. You would observe it yourself when the mother starts scolding the kids when they try to come near her. That is the time when you should start searching new homes for the pups!
