One of the most talked-about festival which has taken up the social media and has been discussed worldwide. Majority of the people are observed sharing their negative thoughts regarding the festival whereas, the Chinese have something else to tell about it.

This festival is around 400 years old tradition which takes place in Yulin city of Guangxi Province of China. This event is of 10 days starting from 21June to 30th June which is considerer to be the hottest summer days. According to the Chinese, Dog meat eating is a festival which is being celebrated since years during the summer months and according to the folklore, eating meat brings luck and good health also it wards off the diseases and heightens men’s sexual performance. This festival has made people believe the fact that if they eat dog meat they would be able to lead a healthy life but the fact is, these are just myth and has no basic values.

Every year around 10-20 million dogs are killed brutally for human consumptions every year. Most of the dogs spotted at the meat market were either stolen or abducted from streets. Some dogs were spotted wearing collars. China’s growing middle class are now 62 million registered pets. And this problem is no time going to end soon!
