The misery of a street dog is on the rise in Pakistan. What do we do, blame the System? Who is responsible for the system? Who makes the system? Does anyone of you have the answers?
It is easy to point fingers at the System/Government because nobody would be specifically blamed for it. It is easy to shout on social media, commenting on a post without being able to come-up with a solution. My question to all Social Media fighters is, what is the point of accusing people and not being able to come-up with a solution when asked to? There have been plenty of forums where, number of social media users would jump to accusing the system without knowing the ground reality and facts. The recent news which has been floating on the social media as well, states that to reduce the amount of street dogs a procedure shall be conducted and that is to “shoot or poison” the dogs! Yes, this is the solution which our Municipal Department has come up with Dog Culling. The irony is, lack of education is at its peak, the people who are coming up with this solution is not right. Killing an innocent animal is not the right solution- everybody knows that. They don’t ask for help from the Animal Enthusiast, Animal Welfare and Organization who are into the Animals Well-being. We as the animal lovers are raising our voice, sharing our two-bits to share our views not only for the Animals but for humans safety. Killing the Dogs, has never been any sort of solution.
It is the Government which is suppose to come up with a sanctuary, or an empty space where all the Street Dogs can be kept. That specific place would be only dedicated to the street dogs and in this manner, none of the Humans would be facing any dog-biting issue. Then again, our Government is busy deciding the other World Affairs whereas, the Citizens and Animal Enthusiast have come together to do our best for the cause of stopping the Dog Killing in Pakistan.
I am reaching out to all of you to please come forward share your views and help me reach a higher audience so that our voice can be reached to millions of people and together we would be able to end the misery of street dogs!
