This year’s summer is not any different than previous years except of that the MET Office is saying that the heat wave wouldn’t be experienced in certain areas of the Globe. Let’s hope for the best though!

We all know that when summers arrive, they bring various sorts of bad things and good things with it. Lol. But in our case, we would be solely discussing about our Pets. Yes! Now most of the new pet parents would be thinking how is Summer related to Pets and to answer all those pet parents, here are all the answers to their questions.

Pets And Fleas:

1. It is a common factor to have ticks or fleas on your pets. They are small blood sucking bugs which tend to grow big in size when they suck blood of your pet. If they are treated on time then they won’t increase in number or else it can be a devastating situation for your pet’s health and physique. It is important to keep an eye on your pet, frequently brush them and give them bath on time. It is not necessary to give them bath daily but yes twice a week would be sufficient enough if your pet stays indoors and provided the weather is pretty warm. Please note: there have been certain cases where pet owners gave bath to their dogs in winters and then their dogs caught cold. So please be careful about that;

2. Use flea spray or tick powder which can prevent your dogs of not having ticks. Once the pet is sprayed, the ticks would automatically fall off from the hair of your pet and would go somewhere. This spray would make your pet a bit low in energy and would make them itchy. Be sure of the quantity and method of usage. This can be found on the bottle of the spray;

3. If God Forbid, your pet tends to have a lot of ticks/flea then you would have to rush him to the Vet without a delay. Causing lots of ticks would make your pet have Tick Fever and that needs to be treated on time;

4. As soon as summers approach, it is often guided by the Vets to get your pet get Tick Fever shot. This vaccine prevents your dog from having ticks and if somehow he develops or catches ticks from another animal, then the ticks present on their skin would die by itself as your pet would be vaccinated.

Important:

It is always best to consult your Vet at all times. Asking your friends who have pets may not be a good idea always. Make sure to have your pet have a thorough visit to the Vet always.
