Why Not A PitBull As Your Pet?

The American Pitbull Terrier is a purebred dog breed which is recognized by the United Kennel Club and American Dog Breeders Association. The short statured medium sized dog ancestors belonged from British isles. Though I am not a breed conscious person but I fail to understand why are certain breeds not recommended as pets.

Pitbulls are strong, confident, have a zest for life. This breed is eager for love and affection, they make good family companions and are fond of children. Their strength is massive and to work along, it does requires an owner who would train him obedience and care, since the dog’s aggression needs to be kept calm. It is going to sound strange to most of the pet lovers that Pitbulls are actually a very friendly breed especially with strangers.

Many studies, researches have been conducted but till to date it is said that “all the date that was collected is a raw-data” according to sources. It has also been added that this specific breed along with Rottweiler are not a family breed which is why they have been banned in The United Kingdom, in the Canadian province of Ontario and many states of United States of America.

If we come to think of it, why to blame the breed? It is us-their owners who are responsible enough to train their pets according to the environment they have provided. It is always instructed that when you own a challenging breed then it is expected that the breed needs to be trained pretty well, not because it demands training but because it demands attention. It is not the fault of the Breed- if he isn’t taught on how to fetch and bring the ball back rather than he ripping it off into pieces. It wouldn’t be his fault at all. Recently, a picture of a poor Pitbull being shot right in the head was floated on social media. Many harsh comments were flooded all around the social media whereas, there were Animal Enthusiasts who were raising the voice for the poor pet who had been shot for no reason.

What was the mistake of that Pet? Leave your answers in the comment section below. Please refrain hate speech. This is a platform and we all are here to learn and increase knowledge and opinions.
