The 27-year-old bear suffered a horrifying life. She was forced to perform in circuses and restaurants, kept in the back of her owner’s van.
The dark days ended for Kristina, when the FOUR PAWS team rescued her and ensured a safe home at our Ведмежий Притулок Домажир (Bear Sanctuary).

She suffered from hip arthrosis, degenerative changes in the wrist of her left front paw, liver disease, cataract in her remaining eye, while her right eye was surgically removed earlier due to glaucoma.

Saddened by the loss of one of our iconic bears, we are glad we could give her six happy years under the amazing care of the onsite team.
Despite being the oldest bear at the sanctuary and almost completely blind, she was known for being very active. Even when the weather wasn’t so warm, she loved a refreshing swim in her pool. 

She will be remembered by all of us as an example of resilience.
