The widely circulated video on social media captures a heartbreaking moment. A mother elephant tries to push a lorry off her calf. This is a powerful expression of maternal grief that moved countless viewers. The timing of the incident, occurring on Mother’s Day, intensified public sorrow and outrage.

My question still remains unanswered. I am still waiting to know why there was a need to drive recklessly on the road in that lorry. An elephant Mother was found grieving. She was trying to remove the lorry over the elephant’s infant. Imagine the pain and the misery that Mother was going through. Later it was found that the Mother Elephant stood there for 5 long hours. The Wild Life Department was contacted to sedate the Mother Elephant. This was done so the traffic could be resumed. Additionally, the lorry and the Baby Elephant could be taken out from underneath the lorry for burial.

The Mother Elephant still visits the same place in search of her baby. It is still said that this occurs. I believe she needs to see the grave of her baby to grieve properly. Otherwise, she will experience trauma for the rest of her life.

Indeed, on Mother’s Day, a mother Elephant lost her baby. They were just minding their own business crossing the road. A reckless lorry driver took the baby’s life. Nobody can understand the pain of a Mother on losing a child.
