I can’t understand how any pet owner could abandon their dogs. It is especially perplexing knowing they have almost no chance of surviving a violent storm on their own. If someone chooses to have a pet, it comes with a responsibility—one that doesn’t disappear when things get difficult. Either don’t adopt an animal, or if you do, make sure you never leave them behind, no matter the circumstances. Pets are family members, not disposable objects. They depend on us entirely, and they deserve the same protection, loyalty, and love that they so freely give.
