Is It Worth It?

Humans love to call themselves the most intelligent beings on this planet. But sometimes, I wonder if we are actually the worst.

We cage, we chain, and we torture animals — all for the heck of our entertainment.

Is it worth it?

We buy tickets to watch a majestic creature, who was born to run wild and free, jump through a ring of fire. Have you ever looked closely at their eyes in that moment? They are not performing. They are terrified. An animal whose instinct is to run away from fire is being forced to run through it, while we sit in the audience and clap.

And what breaks my heart the most is to see the king of the jungle, reduced to this.

A lion was made by the universe to be a king. To roar in the wild, to rule his territory, to live with pride and dignity. He was not created to stand on a small stool, to jump on command, or to dance like a clown for our amusement. We have taken a king and turned him into a slave. We stole his jungle, his freedom, and his very identity. This is not entertainment. This is cruelty disguised as a show.

An animal does not belong in a circus ring, behind bars in a tiny cage, or performing tricks for food. It belongs in the wild, where it can live the life it was meant to live. Every time we pay to watch these shows, we become a part of that cruelty. We fund their chains.

It’s time we stop. It’s time we choose compassion over entertainment. Let’s not teach our children that an animal’s fear is fun. Let’s teach them that true greatness lies in letting these beautiful souls live freely, just as nature intended.

Because a king should live like a king — not like a prisoner.
