Saturday Post: “If I Die Before My Pet”

I remember someone once told me that when my Pet Diesel (African boerboel) passed away last year. I was told that “it is good that he passed his best years with you as if you would have died before, then you wouldn’t have left the world peacefully as you would be wondering whether your pet dog ate anything, slept well or is doing well”. These words sent shiver to my spine because I remember, those last days when Diesel was not able to move his hind legs, as he required help and that I was his only help available. I remember him running around, like a zombie, doing mischievous things and by his frolics he used to make me fall every time he ran around my legs while my walking time.

I can’t forget it because, what I believe is, our Pets might be with us for a shorter period of our life, but they take the most space in our hearts and life. As once a pet arrives, everything changes, priorities changes, work schedule, responsibility and liability as well. But, whatever it is-it is for good.

I do miss all my pets as all of them hold a special place in my heart..
