It been 3years ever since Diesel left. He came to our household as a four month puppy and while with him time just flew. He was a unique cross of Mastiff and Boerboel. Whenever I used to take him on Vet visits, everyone adored his beauty. They always said that he would be an aggressive dog because his breed characteristics include protectiveness and aggression. Our family already had different breeds of dogs around the same age as Diesel. He was the only one who was very notorious and clever. He was also the only male in the clan. My very first dog caught Parvo. We did not find out immediately. We came out of it and fought the illness. Within days, he was back to normal. We didn’t know at first. Only when our other puppy got ill did we realize what Diesel experienced. He fought like a fighter.
Every puppy had it’s own characteristics and no one can take anyone’s place. I bonded well with Diesel. He was my friend of 13 years. He was my partner in crime and my confidant. He was someone whom I trusted. I shared a lot of stories with him. He stood by my high and low days. We bonded so deeply. When his final days arrived, it was one of my longest days. It was also the hardest day ever. The night when he was leaving-it can never be forgotten, the loss, the pain, agony and grief is still there. I still miss my Diesel to the core. The bond we shared over those 13 years can never be forgotten.
He was my friend and we grew together. I just wish, if I could tell Diesel- how much I miss him. Run free Diesel as you loved to run around and dig a tunnel in the garden. Until we meet again.
