The Second Egg Arrives In Pieces

One of the most heartbreaking moment ever for anyone who has a heart full of love.

Watch Here

When an egg is not properly delivered — soft-shelled, cracked, shell-less, or deformed — birds will often eat it. To them, it’s not an egg anymore, it’s a broken, unsafe thing that could attract predators or infection to the nest.

Here is why it happens:

1. Calcium / nutrition deficiency
This is the #1 reason. If she doesn’t have enough calcium, vitamin D3, and protein, the shell comes out thin, soft, or broken. She then eats it to reclaim the lost calcium.

2. The egg broke on laying
If it cracked as it came out, she will clean it up by eating it. This is a natural nest-cleaning instinct.

3. Stress, fear, or inexperience
Young birds laying for the first time often get confused or scared. A small cage, loud environment, or being watched too closely can make them destroy the egg.

4. Inexperience or accidental
Sometimes they just step on it, it breaks, and then they eat it.
