My clients always asks me which spray or tablet to be used for their pets tick and flea, so here it is the answer for all. I always recommend Frontline flea and tick spray which is effective for cats, mainly because it is designed to kill and control external parasites such as fleas and ticks.

Why is Frontline spray good for cats?

• Kills fleas: It helps eliminate adult fleas on the cat and can reduce the flea population.
• Controls ticks: It is also effective against several species of ticks.
• Fipronil-based: The active ingredient in many Frontline sprays is fipronil, which attacks the nervous system of fleas and ticks while being generally well tolerated by cats when used according to the label.
• Useful for infestations: Spray can be particularly useful when you need to treat the cat’s whole coat rather than applying a small spot-on dose.
• Helps break the flea cycle: Treating the cat is important, but the home environment should also be addressed because flea eggs and larvae can remain in bedding, carpets and furniture.

⚠️BUT:

Never use a dog flea/tick product on a cat unless the label specifically says it is safe for cats. Products containing permethrin or other pyrethroids intended for dogs can be extremely toxic to cats.

Also, don’t combine Frontline with another flea/tick treatment without veterinary advice, and follow the exact dose based on the cat’s weight and the specific Frontline formulation.
