Using horses for entertainment, for joyrides, or as carriages is abuse in itself.
We rarely stop to think — they feel hot, tired, sick, thirsty and hungry too. Yet they are forced to carry us under scorching sun or pouring rain, just so we can reach our destination comfortably.
Have we ever truly wondered about them?
Behind the tourist photos and the carriage rides is a lifetime of cruelty. Many of these horses are beaten, starved for days so they stay “active” and obedient, all so their caretakers can earn a little more money.
Just look at this poor baby. Look closer.

Look at his eyes. His tongue hanging out in exhaustion. The sharp metal bit forced into his mouth. Can you feel what he’s going through? Every part of it is pain. These animals were not brought into this world to carry our weight or to be a prop for our holidays. They were created to beautify our nature, to run free — not to be broken. We complain when we have to work overtime. How can they complain?
We raise our voice when we are angry. What about these poor souls? They can’t even show they are annoyed, because they know the next thing coming will be the whip.
And who is responsible?
The caretakers, who for the sake of money mistreat the very animal that earns their bread. And the tourists, for whom it is just a few minutes of fun, without ever realizing what that animal will have to endure later if he doesn’t perform well. It has to stop with us.
Let’s take a stance. Let’s choose not to use any animal as a carriage, as a ride, or as entertainment.
Think before it’s too late. Choose compassion over convenience.
